The human figure, whether clothed or nude, has always been a subject of fascination and challenge for artists. Please be aware that you may encounter an occasional nude figure when visiting the BMA online.

Terms and Conditions for the BMA's Sound Off! Competition on YouTube™.
Your video submission should be inspired by the Franz West: To Build a House You Start with the Roof exhibition on view at the BMA. Videos should be at least one minute in length and no longer than three minutes total.
BMA Filming Rules:
- Videotaping is not permitted in the Museum galleries.
- Videotaping is permitted on the Museum’s grounds, including the three Franz West sculptures on view on the front terrace and on the lawn adjacent to the West Wing for Contemporary Art.
- Photography for personal use is welcome in permanent collection galleries only. Equipment is limited to handheld cameras without flash, lights, or a tripod.
- Photographs may not be reproduced, distributed, or sold without advance permission from the BMA.
Filming People:
- Please be respectful and ask for permission if your video focuses on specific individuals. You might want to have release forms handy.
- Filming of children is strictly prohibited unless written permission from the parent or guardian has been obtained.
Filming Performances:
- The filming or recording of performances by musical artists is prohibited due to copyright restrictions.
Content:
- Do not use copyright-protected material unless given express permission from the copyright holder. If you are looking for music to use in your video that is not your own, take a look at PodSafe Audio. The artists on PodSafe Audio have released their music under the Creative Commons license and have agreed to allow their music to be used by you in any way and form for webcasting, as long as you do not take credit for the original work. Be sure to credit the artist if you find something to use.
- By participating in the competition, you agree not to submit, upload, or post any video that:
- libels, defames, invades privacy, or is abusive, profane, or threatening
- infringes on any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity
- falsifies or deletes author attributions, legal notices, or other proprietary designations
- violates any law
- advocates illegal activity
- knowingly contains viruses, corrupted files, or other materials that may cause damage to any computer system
- advertises or otherwise solicits funds or sales of goods or services
- contains lewd material or content inappropriate for viewing by children
By entering, participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Baltimore Museum of Art, its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents, and representatives, from any and all third party liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with Sound Off!, including without limitation any third party claim for copyright infringement or a violation of an individual’s right to privacy and/or publicity right.
By entering your submission in the Sound Off! YouTube™ group, you declare to the BMA that the creative content is by you and is your own original work which will not infringe the copyright or privacy and publicity rights or any other rights of a third party.
